The Polish company Polmlek has a current market share of 15% of the cheese market and is on the fast track. Jerzy Borucki and Andrzej Grabowski have been establishing the dairy group Polmlek for 10 years. Soon after the end of the communism they began trading with Russia by importing and exporting casein. Then they began investing their profits in agricultural enterprises.
In 1995 they started their key business in the dairy industry when taking over a dairy in Olsztyn that was experiencing financial trouble.Following that, they continued acquiring several other dairies. Currently, the Polmlek group consists of 4 companies owing 5 plants in North Poland and employing about 100 workers.
Polmlek produces loaves of hard cheese (Gouda, Edamer, Morski, Basztowy), sliced cheese (Gouda, Edamer), pieces of cheese (Gouda, Edamer, Mozarella), butter, fat mixtures, coffee and whipped cream and UHT milk and powder.
